My name is Billy Boyle, I’m a graduate engineer of Cambridge University, UK, and co-founder of a company called Owlstone Ltd. For a number of years I have had a keen interest in analytical methods and visualisation techniques applied to business decisions. In particular, methods that are intuitive, compelling and accesible to all the executive team.
An old fashion slide rule was a device that transformed complex mathematical problems into simple tasks of perceptual recognition. My interest is to use techniques to take the complexity out of complex business decisions. The very best formalisms avoid the need for thought and interpretation.

I am into quantitative analysis methods myself, and enjoy your site – keep the models coming!
Out of curiosity, what is the meaning behind Acaso? Google was pretty unhelpful in figuring out the answer…

Hi Mathias, thanks for the message. I’m working on a dashboard for your variant of the Bass equation so will hopefully have somehting up in the next few days. Acaso means ‘risk’ or ‘chance’ in Portugese http://dictionary.reference.com/search?db=dictionary&q=acaso . Cheers – Billy
